I love foster families.

Not some fluffy, good for you, I couldn't do that but you're my hero kind of love. I love them because they know their hearts are going to break, and yet they choose to invite tragedy and trauma into their home. I love them because they love big, bigger than most people. Their love is a painfilled kind of love. But it is the best kind of love, because it is sacrificial and not about them. Their love is about providing a safe space for vulnerable children.

Whenever I am approached by a family with kids in [foster] care, the honor is overwhelming. I do not get to post their precious little love's faces online, so I do my best to capture a few other options for them.

Jeanne and Chris are the kind of people you want in your life. They are generous and kind, loving and thoughtful. They are friends. Really good friends. Here are a few of my favorites from our session together, mainly of their boys! [Kids in care not pictured, except hand image].
